“To celebrate the arrival of the Pre-fall 2013 collection in-store, ELIE SAAB presents a new short film: Reflections

Walking through reflections of herself, foreshadowing the halls as she envisions them, the ELIE SAAB woman embarks on a journey within her surrounding walls.

Once filled with extravagant soirées, the halls are now empty; it is just the woman and her reflections which remain. She imagines a neoprene cocktail dress, a geometric-patterned embroidered gown, or a precisely cut pantsuit with its matching box handbag. Tone-on-tone, all in the same bright poppy red hue.

In a softer mood, she envisions, sophisticated silhouettes with fluid lines: a flowing chalk-white evening gown, an alabaster jumpsuit with a light train. She holds onto her golden and crystal clutch like a jewel.

The pulse of her reverie picks up as powdery sunlight descends into darkness, and her commanding side dominates. She drapes her curves in amethyst silk jersey and hints at the silhouette beneath in obsidian black chiffon.

The seductive play between her delicateness and her confidence contrasts like day and night, a hidden spirit captured within the lucid reflections of endless mirrors.”

This was written in the description of the video posted by Elie Saab’s youtube channel. Now on to my review of the video! This video starts with an Elie Saab woman walking past a hallway wearing a flowy short red dress. Then her wardrobe starts to change as the mood transitions according to the room’s atmosphere. The song of the video was as if it was written especially for the ad! The lyrics that start with “I saw you in my dream last night” perfectly describe any girl’s dream to wear a dress designed by Elie Saab! Back to the ad now. This video just transported me to memories and dreams where i was teleported to a land of Elie Saab goodness. It reminded me why i fell in love with designing and fashion in the first place. This, and it also reminded me to whom the credits go to for this passion: the creator himself ELIE SAAB. Watching this video made me imagine myself in every single dress where i sort of felt the dresses touching my skin and embracing my body till eternal days. I didn’t want the dream to finish! It’s just a disappointment that as soon as the video ended the dream is over, but i could watch the video again and again and again…….
